Surgical Technology

Want to be a real-life scrub?

What is a scrub, you may be asking? Scrub is the fun term given to a surgical technologist. It is his or her job to assist in surgeries under the direct supervision of a surgeon, registered nurse or other surgical personnel.

They are responsible for preparing a surgery room, including the sterilization of the proper tools needed for the surgery.

A minimum of an associate’s degree, earned through an accredited school or college, is necessary to work in this field. Some schools also offer bachelor degree programs.
