Guide to Medical Assisting Schools

A medical assistant performs a number of clerical and administrative duties under the direct supervision of a physician. This can include maintaining accurate medical files, billing and coding for insurance companies.

Certification is not required in this field, but many employers prefer it. To earn certification can take 1 to 2 years through an accredited school or college.
